PORTABLE 12V BATTERY CHARGER
Strictly speaking, there's no fixed order — but to make it easier to check your battery's condition, we suggest this sequence.
Connect the battery first. There are two battery cables. One has O-ring terminals, which are best for a permanent fit on the battery — once installed, you just plug in when needed and don't have to keep opening the battery cover. The other has alligator clips, which are best for a quick, temporary connection. Pick whichever suits you. The red mark goes to the positive (+) terminal, the black mark to the negative (−). Even if you connect them the wrong way round, nothing happens — it has short-circuit protection.
Plug the battery cable into the SAE port on the bottom of the charger. The screen now shows the battery's current voltage: below 9V means the battery has lost a cell and should be checked for damage; above 9V but below 12V means charge it as soon as possible; above 12.5V means no charging is needed — the battery is well charged.
Connect the power source. Use a Type-C cable — one end into the C port on top of the device, the other end into a phone charger, power bank, or portable power station as appropriate. Anything with a Type-C port works. You can also use a cable with USB-A on one end and Type-C on the other — pick whatever fits your setup.
Watch the indicator light. Once everything is connected, the battery light on top of the charger flashes to show it's charging. When the battery is full, the light stays on steady.
