Battery Disconnect Switch

Strictly speaking, this isn't "rewiring" — the original battery clamp simply routes through the unit and bolts back on. The whole process takes about 10 minutes, with no rewiring, no drilling and no disassembly.

5.1 Safety first.
Disconnect the negative terminal before you start, so a wrench never bridges the positive and negative terminals at the same time (see the positive-side safety notes in 4.3).

5.2 Four steps.

  • Step 1: Mount the Auto Starter unit onto the battery terminal.

  • Step 2: Connect the power cable to the other terminal of the battery.

  • Step 3: Bolt the original vehicle clamp onto the Auto Starter and tighten it.

  • Step 4: Stick the wired controller somewhere safe and concealed inside the engine bay.

5.3 Final check.
Every terminal must be tightened — a loose connection generates heat and affects starting. Give it a shake to confirm nothing moves. If you're not familiar with vehicle electrics, just have a repair shop install it according to the manual.
